One of the most important branches of photography is travel photography. With the rise of digital technology and the widespread use of digital cameras in homes and by families, the quality level of the world of photography and imaging has completely changed. The increase in the amount of photography, the recording of various moments and the emergence of smart phones equipped with cameras with a quality beyond imagination, all made a significant impact on the world of photography. Nowadays, before the trip, the first tool that comes along with us and travels with us as a member of the family is travel photography. “Canary Islands” is one of the most beautiful regions that nature and travel photographers pay special attention to this region. These islands are near the coast of Morocco and one of the 17 autonomous republics of Spain. The name of the bird “canary” is derived from the name of these islands. Because this bird is native to this region (as well as the Madeira region). The name of the region is derived from its Latin name “Insularia Canaria”, which means “island of dogs”. The Romans gave this name to these islands because of the wild dogs that were scattered there. The favorable climate of these islands has caused a large number of tourists to flock to this area in all seasons and it is always crowded. The large population has made professional photographers face a serious challenge. Because in order to take a photo of a subject or a beautiful area, they have to wait for a long time until it becomes a little quieter. The “Las Palmas” region consists of very beautiful natural areas that tempt every photographer to take pictures. By renting a car, you can easily travel to all these areas and take photos. I took this photo in the “Santa Cruz” area. In this area of the city of “Las Palmas” there are many beautiful landscapes for walking. The existence of palaces and very big houses that are tourist resorts is a beautiful place for travelers and tourists and you can see all kinds of Spanish churches there. After about 45 minutes of walking, I reached this high place where almost the whole city could be seen. Most importantly, it was quiet and I was able to take beautiful photos. Due to the strong sunlight, I had to use “ND” filters for all the photos.
I took this photo in the area of “Oia” on the island of “Santorini” in Greece. Since there are many photos of the island during the day, I decided to post a photo of the island at night. This photo is the final result of three photos that I took using a tripod, with different exposures, and turned them into one photo in Photoshop. What do you think if I explain a little about this “Santorini”? A dream island that I think every nature and travel photographer should visit once. Perhaps the majority of the fame of “Santorini” can be attributed to the white houses with blue roofs, which are considered to be one of the famous symbols of Greece. However, “Santorini’s” great weather, luxury resorts, and many attractions make it a great vacation destination. I drove all over the island in a rented car and took some amazing photos. But I can safely say that the main attraction in Santorini is the small town of “Oia” with its very beautiful views. In the northern part of the island of “Santorini”, there is a village or actually a small town called “Oia”, whose main characteristic is its whitewashed houses that attract the attention of every tourist. The interesting thing about the houses is that some of them have been converted into small hotels that offer infinity pools overlooking the caldera. The city of “Oia” is also particularly famous for its romantic and beautiful sunsets. This event attracts many tourists to this area every year. Based on my observations, this island is a very suitable place for fashion and portrait photography. There are many photographers on this island who take beautiful portrait photos of women and girls by renting special clothes. Also, many young people choose this island for their honeymoon. “Santorini” like other tourist places, you are faced with crowds and you can’t take photos easily. Fortunately, I chose a time to travel to this island when the corona virus was an epidemic and there were severe restrictions on travel during the summer season. On the other hand, people had less desire to travel during this period. Therefore, this island was almost empty of tourists and it was the most ideal time for photography. According to one of the residents of this island, at least 20,000 tourists are present on this island at the same time in the summer and it is very crowded. You can’t even go to a restaurant and eat easily.
In the summer of 2022, I had a dream trip to “Cairo”, the capital of Egypt. In this sense, I say a dream because one of my dreams since childhood was to one day see the Triple Pyramids up close. What I saw was unbelievable! I didn’t know where and how to take photos from the excitement. I was frantically pressing the camera shutter. I took more than 2 thousand photos of “Cairo” sights, each of which had its own story. I took the above photo in the city of “Giza” around the city of “Cairo”. The largest pyramid is also known as “Giza” and is about 147 meters high. Although many things have been written about the three pyramids, it is not bad for me to write my observations about it for you. The Great Pyramids of Egypt, after thousands of years of construction and design, are still one of the most amazing man-made architectural structures. Due to the complex construction, precise orientation and height of these structures, there are various theories about the origin of their formation. At first glance, I was so lost in the arrangement of stones that I forgot the intense heat of 55 degrees! The fact that buildings of this magnitude were built without any technical facilities and tools, aroused the surprise of every viewer. According to our tour leader, so far many scientists and experts have tried to build an example of the pyramids with advanced facilities, but they did not succeed and the structures collapsed! The three pyramids have many secrets in their hearts that are still unknown. Based on my experience, if you plan to travel to Egypt, pay attention to these recommendations. Like many other tourist places I have visited, I took my drone with me on my trip to Egypt. The entry of any drone into Egypt is prohibited! I missed a day of my trip because of this. The next thing you must consider is the polarizing and “ND” filters. Because the sun is strong, you must use “ND” filter. You are not allowed to take pictures in a number of places, such as the King of Egypt Museum. Be sure to ask your tour leader about this beforehand. If you plan to travel and photograph in the desert, be sure to bring a plastic cover for the camera to prevent dust from entering and damaging the camera.
Event photography is one of the most exciting and enjoyable styles of photography. But capturing moments that only happen once comes with challenges. Event photography is one of the biggest sources of income for many photographers. In event photography, you not only have to move around constantly, but also have to know what settings to use in each scene. An event photographer can work in different environments. Event photography styles often include a mix of documentary work and celebrity portraits at events. Some organizations use their event photos for promotional purposes. The equipment you use for event photography is also very important and can make or break a photo. But most of the events take place indoors and under low light. This means that you have to choose the equipment you bring with you very carefully. For indoor event photography, you should choose your best camera for low light spaces. Choose cameras that have less noise at high ISO values and more sensitive sensors. These cameras perform better in difficult lighting conditions. In general, cameras with higher megapixels capture details better. But the more megapixels the camera has, the larger the file size will be. Therefore, be sure to bring a memory card with a high capacity. The quality of the final image is strongly influenced by the type of lens you use. Prime, Art, Luxury Glass and other high-end lenses have much higher resolution and are clearer than other lenses. Also, such lenses are faster and more reliable. For event photography in dark environments, portable artificial lights that you will bring are very important. Some photographers use flash to enhance the lighting of the scene while others use constant light for this purpose. In event photography, especially wedding and concert photography, be sure to bring extra batteries and memory cards with you. Setting the camera to continuous shooting mode and using continuous focus are the best settings for photographing different events. Shooting with continuous mode when the guests are moving is one of the necessities of photography in this style.
